English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)

The English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) is a group of elected parents of English Learners that meet on a regular basis. The purpose of ELAC is to advise the principal and school staff on programs and services for English Learners. This year at Challenger we are excited and committed to developing a strong, parent-based ELAC.

For additional information please contact Mary Hight, ELAC Advisor, at 858-302-3000 or [email protected].

District English Learner Advisory Committee (DELAC)

Because our district has more than 50 ELs enrolled, it is required to establish a DELAC made up of one representative from each site-level ELAC. The San Diego Unified DELAC meets throughout the year in a collaborative effort to improve educational opportunities for ELs and facilitate parent involvement. This committee encourages public support for, and engagement in, EL programs.
